Is That All There Is (2006) Inspired by my experiences as a "new" mother, Is That All There Is, a half-evening length satirical dance, exposes the underbelly of modern motherhood. Wearing colorful A-line dresses, the dancers' physicality juxtapose against familiar children's songs (i.e."If You Are Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands"). Each dancer confesses, through movement, a personal story of friendship, solitude, identity crisis or unconditional love. The opening duet, performed to Peggy Lee's lyrics, "If that's all there is my friend then let's keep dancing..." sets the stage for both sweet and sour interactions which reveal a community of formidable women who could not survive without one another's support. Length: approx. 30 minutes |

7/10-7/29, 9/5-12/9, to be cont... (2006) Sleek and elegant, this ensemble dance is stripped of narrative but riddled with abstract aesthetic episodes that appear and dissolve revealing glimpses of individuals among the group. Dressed in white, the dancers perform within an original soundscape created by Michail Kaschok. Kaschok’s score compliments the organic, dreamlike, and sparse composition of the dance. This project was originally commissioned for the Strictly Seattle Dance festival in July 2006. The first part of the title, 7/10-7/29, marks the first day of rehearsal through the final performance in Seattle. 9/5-12/9 marks the same artistic process with a different cast of dancers that re-premiered at Connecticut College. This project will continue to be performed throughout the United States. With each new cast the dates of the creative process will be added to the title to indicate the accumulative collaboration. This dance is an ode to process. Length: approx. 13 minutes |

Ze Moxy Baloop IV (2006) Ze Moxy Baloop IV is a bold exhibition of technical virtuosity that bursts with extreme energetic physicality and sky-high partnering. Composed in three sections, the dance has had many manifestations since 1998 ranging from a cast of thirteen to its current version with three female dancers. Accompanied live by a polyrhythmic original score for percussion by Patrick Flynn, the trio incorporates a hybrid of movement styles braiding partnering, capoeira, salsa, hip-hop, and contemporary dance into a sensual mélange. Length: approx. 15 minutes |
