Adele Myers, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/PERFORMER Myers enthusiastically joined the Connecticut College dance department as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the fall of 2006. Her choreography was recently presented at Palmer Auditorium in New London, CT alongside work by esteemed colleagues David Dorfman, Lisa Race, Heidi Henderson and guest artist Alexandra Beller. Myers’ choreography has been presented throughout the United States and in Honduras and England. In addition to receiving a Jacob’s Pillow honorarium for a collaboration with the Tanglewood Music Center, Myers’ dance company has also been awarded support from the State of Connecticut, and from the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography. Prior to embarking on a career in choreography and teaching, Myers performed in NYC with Joy Kellman/Co. for several years and was a guest artist with many companies including Momix. She was also a choreographic assistant for Jawole Zollar for several projects, including a residency with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. When Myers is not teaching, choreographing, or playing with her delightful son, Jack, she is completing a Ph.D. in Performance Studies at NYU. She received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College where she studied choreography with Viola Farber. In 2000, Myers earned an MFA in dance from Florida State University. Rachel Lynne Astern, performer Astern came to New York City after completing her BFA in Dance at Florida State University, where she had the opportunity to work with Jawole Zollar, Lynda Davis, Gerri Houlihan, Jack Clark, Dr. Nancy Smith Fichter and Suzanne Farrell. She has toured with People's Touring Project, Phlava Dance and Urban Wash Dance Company, and has presented in New York, Europe, Japan, and the southeastern United States. Astern is a founding member of Adele Myers and Dancers and a trainer of the Gyrotonic expansion system. |

Maria Bauman, performer Prior to joining Adele Myers and Dancers, Maria danced with Urban Bush Women for five years, originating several roles and playing an active part in the company’s Community Engagement Projects. She also works with Nia Love/Blacksmith’s Daughter, and is an apprentice with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Maria graduated cum laude with a B.F.A. in Dance and English from the Florida State University. She is also trained in capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that employs dance. |

Tara Burns, performer Tara graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a BFA in Dance. She also received an MA in Digital Performance from Hull University's Doncaster College Campus, England. While in England, she had the opportunity to perform with Palindrome Inter.media Dance Group and Kathinka Walter throughout the UK and Germany. In 2005, Tara joined Adele Myers and Dancers. She also performs with Kelley Donovan and Dancers and white road Dance Media. In addition to performing, Tara is a freelance web designer and media consultant. She is the company manager for Adele Myers and Dancers and Alexandra Beller/Dances. |

Diana Deaver, performer Diana Deaver is a founding member of Adele Myers and Dancers. In New York, she has performed with the Sean Curran Company, Parsons Dance Company, Dance Council Movement Theatre, and at City Center's, Fall for Dance, with Charles Moulton. Diana is currently in her fourth season dancing with the New York City Opera. She is a certified Core Fusion instructor at the esteemed Exhale Spa in New York City. Diana graduated with honors from Florida State University. |

Kelly Gaunt, performer Kelly Gaunt, originally from Florida is currently living in New York City. She graduated cum laude from the University of Florida where she received her BFA in dance in 2005. Kelly joined Adele Myers and Dancers in 2005. She is also a company member of Shapiro & Smith Dance where she has been touring the US with their new show "ANYTOWN: Stories of America" with music by Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, and Soozie Tyrell. In addition, Kelly works as a personal trainer throughout the NYC promoting healthy lifestyles, both in mind and body. |

Jessica Patz, performer Jessica Patz is a founding member of Adele Myers and Dancers. She began training in Florida with Mia Michaels and attended New World School of the Arts High School. Jessica graduated in three years magna cum laude from Florida State University with a BFA in Dance and subsequently joined the Cynthia Gonzalez dance company in Dresden, Germany. Jessica is currently dancing with the Big Apple Lindy Hoppers under the direction of Laura Jeffers. She has been fortunate to train and work with Frankie Manning, Daniel Lewis, Gerri Houlihan, Suzanne Ferrell, Jawole Zollar, Bill Kline, and Paul Grecki among others. |

Leah Verier-Dunn, performer Leah attended New World School of the Arts where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Before moving to New York, she had the opportunity to work with Freddrick Bratcher and Co. in Miami, FL for two years. In addition to AM&D, Leah is currently working with Keigwin and Company and has presented her choreography throughout Miami. Her choreography is currently being performed by Freddick Bratcher and Co. in Miami, FL. Leah is excited and proud to begin her first season with Adele Myers and Dancers. |

Rebecca Woods , performer Rebecca received her training from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, and Marymount Manhattan College where she graduated with a degree in Dance and Communications. She has performed with the Juilliard Opera Company, LKB Dance, Chasla, Stephen Kloplowitz, Ali kenner dance, Sara Joel, and Eidolon Ballet in Concert. Rebecca teaches Kundalini yoga. She is on faculty at Ballet Academy East, Normandy court, and runs her own yoga studio Asian Fusion Studios. |

Aliza Arenson, administrative consultant Arenson received her BA in Art History and Dance History from Barnard College/Columbia University. She has held administrative internships at Dance Magazine, New York City Ballet Archives, Williamsburg Art NeXus and Buglisi/Foreman Dance. Recently, she was the programming intern at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival 2003 and was part of the coordinating committee for Danza-Dancenow/NYC 2004. In addition to working with Adele Myers and Dancers, Arenson is currently direct donations coordinator at Materials for the Arts, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and is also an administrative consultant for Von Ussar/Danceworks.
